According to Cummins in 1911, the town called Warren Paper Mills, was a town 3 1/2 miles above the mouth of the Musconetcong River. The principal industry was the Warren Manufacturing Co., the maker of manila paper. The town was formerly called "The Forge". Then Snell states that the forge at "Hughesville" (now Warren Glen), was converted by James M. Long into a grist-mill, and has since been consumed by fire. There is now at the place a store kept by Howard Young and a blacksmith-shop. A very early school was located at Hughesville, and at present is occupied as a stable.
