Established by ordinance in 1998, the Historic Preservation Commission aims to promote restoration and preservation of historic sites in Pohatcong Township, as well as educate local residents regarding our township's history.
The commission catalogs historic sites and structures in the township, to foster awareness of township historic resources. We can offer guidance to residents interested in restoration, to perpetuate the architectural history of Pohatcong Township. The commission's file contains information related to our township's past, including books, photographs, maps, and documents relating to Pohatcong Township and its residents. Members will also collect oral histories from interested residents, in an effort to preserve our social history as well.

Pohatcong Projects Committee

The Pohatcong Projects Committee of PRO has worked tirelessly to preserve the irreplaceable Pohatcong Grasslands. Members are working to save other spaces in the township, including Pohatcong Mountain, the Pohatcong Creek and the Delaware River. The committee is also interested in preserving the historic resources of the township. The committee welcomes all, even non-township residents.
