Shimer Homestead
The Shimers came to the area from Pa. in the early 1800's. John Lerch Shimer owned a large farm and his son William built the brick Shimer house in 1850 (It sits currently behind cleaners at the blinker light at Rte. 519). Shimor Manor was largely developed on the subdivision of the Shimer farm in the 1930's.
