Apgar Barn
Apgar Barn
Built in the middle of the 19th century, this bank barn has been restored to its original simplicity and purpose. See the sheep? The lower level constructed of stone, was used to house the livestock. The upper level is a braced-framed which often extends out towards the exposed stable wall.
The stable level is constructed of rough squared stone. Its recessed wall has three Dutch batten doors hung on hand-wrought strap hinges. The loft has two bays. All of the framing timbers are hewn with exception of the rafters and braces.
