In 1888 this building, then used only by the Methodists, was put up for sale. The high
bidder was Mr. Isaac S. Laubach for $350.00! The bell tower bears the following
inscription: Cast by Clinton H. Menfely Bell Co., Troy, NY, AD 1882.
