There were 2 schools in Carpentersville. The first was a 1 room stone building built in 1850 and used until the early 1900's. This frame school building in Carpentersville still stands, the Prolog says it was built 1904. Besides Carpentersville students, there were students from Pincher's Point to Pursell's Meadow--and they walked! In this school were coal stoves, a piano and wash basins in the front of the room. Today's township residents can remember attending this school in 1936 and 1937.
